Force Of NatureI don't recommend this because it has a controversial ingredient!
This is a disinfectant, not a household cleaner since its formulation generates a form of chlorine!!
Even though it is much less than in a conventional bleach it is still chlorine!
In fact, the company states: "Those individually allergic to Chlorine should avoid direct contact as it may cause irritation with symptoms of redness, itching, and swelling."
Even you are not allergic to it, you are still breathing and touching chlorine. I find chlorine to be also not eco-friendly!
Their chlorine is in their Hypochlorous acid (HOCI) and Sodium Hydroxide (aka Caustic soda) that is formed during the electrolysis of vinegar, salt, and water.
Chlorine and caustic soda sound eco-friendly to you?
1. First sign of greenwashing.
They claim it is only salt, water, and vinegar.
Their full ingredients list is not easy to find!
But in reality, the ingredient list is reported in their safety data sheet:
INGREDIENTS: Water, sodium chloride (salt), Hypochlorous Acid HOCl, Sodium Hydroxide NaOH, aka Caustic soda.
Hypochlorous Acid and Sodium Hydroxide mixture.
It sounds much more aggressive, less eco-friendly, and safer!
2. Second sign of greenwashing.
"Force of Nature is gentle, hypoallergenic, and fine to use without gloves."
SAFETY DATA SHEET: Chemical Name: Hypochlorous Acid, Sodium Hydroxide
Formula: H20; NaCl; HOCl; NaOH
Hazardous Decomposition Products: Hypochlorous Acid decomposes into chlorine.
Skin Contact: Those individually allergic to Chlorine should avoid direct contact as it may cause irritation with symptoms of redness, itching, and swelling.
It is not gentle or hypoallergenic!!
Let's analyze their ingredients:
According to Wikipedia drops of Sodium Hydroxide NaOH solutions can readily decompose...which consequently cause chemical burns and may induce permanent blindness upon contact with eyes. Sodium Hydroxide is called also CAUSTIC SODA
According to Wikipedia the ingredient Hypochlorous Acid HOCl is a weak acid that forms when chlorine dissolves in water
It is not the same as bleach; it has a different chemical composition than bleach.
Hypochlorous acid is considered safe until it is diluted with water

Hypochlorous acid reacts slowly with DNA and RNA as well as all nucleotides in vitro.
Storage issues: Most hypochlorous acid water has a short shelf life and is not suitable to keep for a long time. Electrolyzed alkaline ionized water loses its potency fairly quickly, so it cannot be stored for long.
3. Third sign of greenwashing.
CLAIMS:
1. "Electrolyzed water, the solution that the Force of Nature appliance creates using salt, water & vinegar."
Also, where is the vinegar (CH3COOH) in their safety data sheet?
What does it mean Electrolyzed water? The technology to use electricity to change the chemical composition.
According to Wikipedia: Electrolyzed Water is is produced by the electrolysis of ordinary tap water containing dissolved sodium chloride.[1] The electrolysis of such salt solutions produces a solution of hypochlorous acid and sodium hydroxide. The resulting water can be used as a disinfectant.[2] Electrolyzed alkaline ionized water loses its potency fairly quickly, so it cannot be stored for long.
Amazon review: Not like vinegar, and not like chlorine bleach or swimming-pool water--those smells I kind of like!-- but like some kind of acid we had to make in college chemistry lab. It irritated my nasal passages and throat and took the finish off my nice, stainless steel espresso maker--without actually cleaning the surface.
Conclusion I won't recommend unless it is necessary to truly disinfect on a particular occasion, even then I still recommend more eco-friendly alternatives. wear gloves!
