Organic Salt  

According to the national thyroid expert dr Datis Kharrazian, we need to avoid salt with added iodine.

Plus salt with iodine tends to have unhealthy added ingredients such as calking agents.

 

Alkaline Salt

If you deal with acid reflux you want to avoid acid food. Here is my favorite salt recommended by the expert for acid reflux Dr. Aviv. It is the most alkaline salt on the market. I reached the brand on Feb 16 2023 and we spent a long time on the phone talking about their products and testing.

Selina Naturally Salt 

This brand has been on the market for a long time and they source their salt in the best places all around the world. The founder, Jacques Delangre, had a mission to bring unrefined salt to the USA

On the phone, I learned that 2 of their salt version are harvested and kept indoors:

1. Hawaii sourced CELTIC MAKAI PURE 

While the majority of salt is kept outdoors after it has been harvested to dry out, this MAKAI PURE is kept in a beautiful super clean indoor area (in pharmaceutical-grade clean rooms with fans) protected by external elements such as leather or bird poop. making this the cleanest and purest of the entire collection

2. Celtic Sea Salt® Pink Potassium Cave Salt

Souced and harvested in a cave in Spain. Unrefined, rich in minerals, naturally higher in potassium and lower in sodium. What I learned is that their Light Grey Celtic®  is gray because it is harvested from French green clay-lined beds imparted into the crystals. Even though it doesn't have the California Proposition 65 warning, I still prefer the white and pure Hawaii salt.

Heavy Metals:

On the phone, they explained to me that none of their salt has California 65 warning. 

Under each product, you can see their testing including the Elemental analysis to test for not just LEAD but also arsenic, mercury, cadmium, and copper. Plus California Proposition 65 warning g is testing everything else.
